Carnation Festival

2019 Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival

The 50th Annual Carnation Festival is coming up August 9-11, 2019.  The parade will take place on Saturday, August 10th at 9:30 a.m.  Below is information from the event organizers about our participation in the parade.

Name of Organization:
Prospect Valley

Entry Number:
29

Staging Area:
Benton St.

THE PARADE WILL START AT 9:30 AM AND LINEUP WILL BE FROM 8:30 TO 9:15 AM. Thank you for entering this year’s Parade. Please inform your participants in advance of your number and street. On Parade day please go to your assigned street and assemble at your assigned entry number designated by numbered cones.  There will be a Parade volunteer (wearing a vest) on each street to assist you; please find your volunteer and obtain your entry number placard. Affix your card on the left side of your entry, so that the announcer and judges can see your entry number. Line-up begins at 8:30 AM and the Parade starts promptly at 9:30 AM.

There will be four Port-o-lets for Parade participants: one behind Hank’s Billiards at Ames St and 38th Ave, one at the corner of Depew St and 38th Ave in the Leubke Apartments, and two in the area of Panorama Park.  Remember that candy and any other materials are to be handed out or tossed – no throwing, please.  In the event of bad weather early Saturday morning, be sure to check your email by 6:30 AM for possible Parade cancellation.  Please do not call or e-mail on Saturday morning – if the weather is fair, the Parade is on.  The Parade awards ceremony takes place Saturday evening from 4:30 to 5 PM on the Festival Main Stage at Anderson Park.  I will phone the award winners Saturday afternoon.

38th Ave will be closed earlier in the morning this year and we would like ONE WAY traffic for staging.  Please use 35th Ave to come north to your staging number.

Please keep an approximate gap of ONLY 20 ft between you and the entry in front of you during the Parade.
I have attached the Parade Rules and Regulations again for reference, please remind all participants in your entry of them. We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Parade and hope you have a great time!
