There are lots of ways to get involved at Prospect Valley—whether you have an hour to help at an event, want to contribute from home, or are interested in taking on a larger role with the PTA.

Current Leadership & Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for a way to get more involved? The PTA is currently looking for volunteers to fill the roles below:
Some opportunities are for the 2026–27 school year, while others are shadow roles designed to let you learn alongside a current leader this year before stepping into a larger role in 2027–28.
No PTA experience is required. Current leaders will help you get oriented and set you up for success. Regular PTA meeting attendance is NOT required to fill volunteer roles.
Fun Run Leadership Opportunities (Event Date: 10/2)
Fun Run Team Lead Shadow 1: 2026–27 Shadow Role → Fun Run Co-Lead in 2027–28
Work alongside this year’s Fun Run leadership team to learn the planning and execution of one of Prospect Valley’s major annual events.
The two incoming Fun Run Co-Leads will focus particularly on managing the donation system, student data, and prize ordering and distribution. After shadowing this year, the goal is for both volunteers to co-lead the Fun Run team and event in 2027–28.
Fun Run Team Lead Shadow 2: 2026–27 Shadow Role → Fun Run Co-Lead in 2027–28
We’re looking for a second volunteer to join the Fun Run leadership transition team.
Together, the two incoming Co-Leads will shadow the current team during the 2026–27 Fun Run, learning the event with particular focus on the donation system, student data, and prize ordering and distribution. The pair would then co-lead the Fun Run team and event in 2027–28.
Carnival Leadership Opportunities (Event Date: 9/17)
The Student Fun Committee is looking for three Carnival Event Coordinators for this year’s event.
These volunteers will work under the Carnival Event Leads, each taking ownership of one important area of the event. Coordinators will help plan their area in advance and organize the day-of volunteers assigned to it.
Creating these focused coordinator roles will help distribute responsibilities and keep the Carnival running smoothly.
Carnival Event Coordinator – Food
2026–27 School Year
Take the lead on food-related logistics for the Carnival, coordinating volunteers and supporting food operations on event day.
Carnival Event Coordinator – Prizes & Redemption Room
2026–27 School Year
Take ownership of Carnival prizes and the Redemption Room, including helping organize the area in advance and coordinating the volunteers supporting it during the event.
Carnival Event Coordinator – Day-of Volunteer Organization
2026–27 School Year
Help organize the many volunteers who make Carnival day possible. This coordinator will help make sure day-of volunteers know where to go, what they’re doing, and where help is needed throughout the event.
Milestones Committee Opportunity
Milestones Committee – Continuation Co-Lead2026–27 School Year
Join the existing Milestones Committee Lead as a Co-Lead, helping share responsibility for the committee and providing continuity for future school years.
This role would be especially well suited to a parent or caregiver with a child currently in 4th or 5th grade who is interested in helping carry the committee’s work forward.
PTA Leadership & Team Opportunities
Leadership Team – Secretary Shadow
2026–27 Shadow Role → Secretary in 2027–28
Shadow the PTA Secretary during the 2026–27 school year with the intention of stepping into the position the following year.
The Secretary role is being expanded to provide broader organizational and administrative support to the PTA Leadership Team. This year offers an opportunity to learn the role while helping shape and strengthen it for the future.
Volunteer Coordinator Shadow
2026–27 Shadow Role → Volunteer Coordinator in 2027–28
Work alongside the current Volunteer Coordinator this year to learn how volunteer recruitment and coordination works across the PTA, with the intention of stepping into the Volunteer Coordinator role next school year.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting people, keeping things organized, and helping volunteers find meaningful ways to contribute.
Accountability Team Member
2026–27 School Year
Join the PTA’s Accountability Team and help support the team’s work throughout the school year.
This is a good opportunity for someone interested in becoming more involved with the PTA without taking on a lead position.
