Prospect Valley Has a New Spelling Champion!
Congratulations to all of our spellers at this year’s Prospect Valley Spelling Bee! The kids all did an outstanding job spelling some truly tricky words. This year’s champion was Colton Williams, who sealed his victory by spelling “homeopathic” correctly in the championship round. Colton will be joined by five other finalists from PV at the Wheat Ridge Area Spelling Bee, which will be held at Prospect Valley at 1 p.m. on Feb. 2 at 1:00 at Prospect Valley.
Please congratulate the following students if you get the chance:
Colton Williams, Champion
Sofia Walden, Second Place
Desmond Kent, Third Place
Cory Peterson, Fourth Place
Lexi Oberly, Fifth Place
Quinn Nemeth, Sixth Place
Good luck at the Area Bee, PV Spellers!
Our students look forward to the Spelling Bee each year where they have a chance to test out their super spelling skills! Students in grades 4 and 5 are eligible to compete in the first round of the Spelling Bee, the written exam, which usually takes place in early January. Top spellers then move onto the Oral Spelling Bee, where friends and families are invited to watch our spellers compete! The top 3 spellers advance onto the Wheat Ridge Area spelling bee (typically held in February). The winner of the Wheat Ridge Area Bee may qualify for the Colorado State Spelling Bee Championship (usually held in March).
